Professional, Caring Team

The strength of Kempsville Center for Behavioral Health lies in the expertise of the team. The team includes a psychiatrist, a therapist, nurses, mental health technicians, teachers and paraprofessionals – all creating a structured and caring environment for your child to thrive in.

Support for Your Child

We understand that, as parents, you can’t give 24/7 support to your child – but we can. Our staff are there at any point in the day to help your child work through issues and reach success. Kempsville Center for Behavioral Health offers a wide range of pediatric and adolescent mental and behavioral health services.

Inpatient Services

Our inpatient services focus on stabilizing and caring for children and adolescents, ages 4 to 18, in acute crisis situations.

Partial Hospitalization – Outpatient

Our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) is a day program that helps children and adolescents, ages 8 to 18 better manage school anxiety, difficult emotions, problematic behavior and mental health challenges. It is a convenient treatment option for children and adolescents whose illnesses can be managed without inpatient care.

Residential Services

Our Residential Treatment Program serves children and adolescents, ages 11 to 18, who suffer from chronic mental health challenges.

Personalized Treatment

We understand that each person is unique in their struggles, which is why we provide a personalized approach to treatment. The center provides individual treatment, medication management and education/skill building/clinical therapy and other allied group therapy through a cognitive behavioral therapy approach.
