What to Bring to Treatment at Kempsville Center for Behavioral Health

What to Bring

  • Three changes of clothes. Clothing should be loose fitting and comfortable enough for gym time as well as group/therapy times.
    • Washers and Dryers are available.
    • All clothing must be labeled with your child/teen’s name.
  • Pajamas
  • Jacket (if during cold weather)
  • Shoes without strings/buckles/sharp objects

Personal hygiene products will be provided by Kempsville Center including toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, soap.

Prohibited Items

  • No clothing with:
    • Strings
    • Vulgar language, drug or alcohol related themes, and/or gang related themes
  • No personal electronics including but not limited to, tape recorders, iPods, game systems, cell phones, CD players and CDs are not permitted.
    • Some electronic items may be provided by the facility to check out for periods of time based upon advancement of your child on the level system.
  • No body piercings are allowed on the unit.
    • All piercings are to be removed prior to admission. This includes facial, tongue, belly button and all other types of piercings.
  • Valuables such as jewelry and money will be sent home with family/guardian.

The facility is not responsible for any lost, stolen or misplaced personal items.
